For the corporate London headquarters of global airline Emirates, the interior environment required a modern lighting feature that delivered both striking architectural geometry and comfortable, shadow-free illumination across core working zones.

Imperial supplied and installed two custom StretchLume dual-layer backlit stretch ceiling features, engineered to drop cleanly into prepared plasterboard openings:

The Circular Feature: A large-scale 3.6m diameter recessed circular lightbox creating a diffuse overhead light source designed to emulate natural daylighting.
The Printed Grid Feature: A 2.3m x 2.3m square recessed lightbox incorporating a high-precision printed grid graphic across the translucent membrane, adding geometric depth to the office interior.

Technical & Architectural Highlights

Dual-Layer Dust Barrier: Configured as a dual-layer system to provide optimal light diffusion while forming a protective dust seal above the visible lower membrane—ensuring long-term visual clarity without debris buildup.
Precision 4000K Illumination: Powered by high-efficacy, dimmable 4000K neutral white LEDs, giving occupants complete dimming control over the workspace lighting throughout the day.
Flush Architectural Integration: Both features were installed recessed into plasterboard ceiling openings, providing a sharp, trimless transition between traditional drylining and the backlit stretch membrane.
Rapid Commercial Turnaround: The entire installation across both features was completed on-site in just 3 working days, minimizing operational disruption to the commercial fit-out schedule.
