The StretchLume System for Automotive Environments
StretchLume combines a tensioned translucent PVC or fabric membrane with precision-engineered LED backlighting to create a seamless illuminated ceiling surface. The result is an even, diffused light source that covers the full floor area beneath it, eliminating the patchy coverage and glare associated with conventional spotlight and track lighting systems.
For automotive environments, the system can be specified in three configurations:
Flush-mounted: Installed within an existing ceiling opening for a clean, level finish that integrates with the surrounding structure.
Surface-mounted: Ideal where ceiling depth is limited or structural soffits are exposed, as is common in purpose-built showroom buildings.
Suspended: Creates dramatic floating light rafts that define display zones within larger open-plan showroom floors, allowing different vehicle lines or brand environments to be delineated by light.
All LED options are available. Tuneable white is the most common specification for automotive, allowing colour temperature to be adjusted between a warm welcome tone for customer areas and a cooler, more accurate rendering light for vehicle inspection.
